Wallpaper can be extremely damaging to drywall. Care must be taken to ensure damage is mitigated, and proper preparations are taken, otherwise, fresh paint won't adhere.
We use a simple 3 step process to remove, prepare, and prime walls for painting.
1. Remove wallpaper with steam. No harsh chemicals. People/Pet friendly.
2. Prep wall by knocking down rough spots and patching small holes.
3. Prime walls with oil-based primer. In order for a new coat of paint to properly adhere to previously wall papered walls, oil-based primer must be used. Water-based primer will eventually cause paint to flake off and expose the glue still embedded into the wall texture.
